Jonathan Masters successfully defended a Lafayette Circuit Court jury trial receiving a defense verdict on behalf of his client, a local construction contractor.
The matter involved the defense of a general contractor on breach of contract and conversion claims arising out of a residential construction project. The subcontractor alleged he was owed substantial funds after dismissal from the project. Not only did the jury return a verdict finding that Holcomb Dunbar’s client was not liable, but went further finding that the subcontractor’s actions of abandoning the project, entitled the general contractor to receive compensation.
